Atari Centipede

Atari Centipede is a classic fixed-shooter arcade game that challenges players to fend off a relentless swarm of insects, including centipedes, spiders, scorpions, and fleas, using your trusty bugblaster! The goal is to survive as long as possible amidst the chaos and intense action. Your bugblaster fires small darts at the segmented centipede, which is composed of 10 to 12 body parts, including its head. When shot, each segment transforms into a mushroom, adding obstacles and complexity to the game. Each piece continues to move independently down the screen toward you, creating a dynamic and unpredictable battlefield. To eliminate the centipede completely, you must target and shoot its head; destroying it ends the wave. Control your bugblaster with either the keyboard or mouse to maneuver and aim, strategically shoot down the invading insects, and achieve the highest score possible in this exciting arcade adventure!
